This is the stealthy man's ace in the hole. (If you are doing a non-lethal playthrough, get Smart Vision to avoid that.) Plus, it looks cool, and really badass whn you kill someone behind the wall. It will help you find hidden paths (or rather, make them) as well as allowing you to uncover veritable treasure troves. This is a nice first augment because it is almost immediately useful, it only costs 1 Praxis Point to get and because, given enough exploration, it will pay for itself and then some. Here I will detail some of my favorite augments and why they are my favorites. Augments will help you in various ways, but some are mroe useful than others. I personally like to accept sidequests, but if you just want to advance the plot or play quickly, the game can be beaten without doing any sidequests.įairly early in the game, you will be faced with the choice of which augment to buy/upgrade. This will make whatever traits you give Jensen seem more realistic.ĭepending on how thouroguhly you want to play, you may want to decide to accept every sidequest, or accept none. I find it's better to choose whether you want to be good or evil (and nice or mean) and stick with it, rahter than jumping around. This refers more to the choices you make, as you can be lethal but still be a "good guy" if you want to. Would you rahter dispatch every enemy in a room, or go completely unseen? You can still be "Killy" in a non-lethal way, by knocking out everyone. There's no right or wrong choice, and both ways are really fun. If you do decide to go non-lethal though, it will mean more reliance on stealth, which brngs me to my next question:Īgain, this is a matter of preference. Of course, you can always take a mixture of lethal and non-lethal weaponry. Non-lethal doesn't mean you don't get to fight, it just means you are using tranquilizers and stun-guns. Normal will be more challenging than you expect.Įntirely your choice, based on what you prefer to do. Even if you are quite the gamer, I recommend giving it a go once with normal before going straight to hard. If you are not an avid gamer, then go with easy. I recommend starting with normal mode for your first playthrough. This will keep you on track and generally improve your experience playing. Before starting your playthrough, I recommend making a few decisions about how you are going to play the game.
